Our Staycation at Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah (Part 1)

Remember how I was on leave for about 3 weeks last year because our nanny had to go to the Philippines? I was stuck at home the entire time except for the occasional errands, trips to the mall, and visits to friends with my family. But when I returned to work and the Corporate Sales Manager from Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek found out that we didn’t even go out of town, she made some arrangements so that we could visit Fujairah and try out their hotel there.

It took a while for our schedules to be free, but finally last Thursday, we headed towards Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah, where we would be staying the entire weekend.

Night arrived quickly so we didn’t get to enjoy the scenic views, but we did make out the red desert sand and mountains that we passed.

We were attended to as soon as we stopped the car in front of the hotel lobby by the valet and bellboy. Much to our delight, check-in was a breeze with the friendly staff who informed us that we had been upgraded to a One-Bedroom Suite, and within minutes we were accompanied by the bellboy to our room at Building 3.

As soon as the door was opened, our girls rushed in to explore every corner of the suite.

Every room in the Resort had a balcony and view of the sea, and although it was already night time, we could clearly see a pool below.

The following morning, we headed to Breeze Restaurant for breakfast where a buffet of good food was spread.

Guests had the option to eat inside or enjoy their meal on the terrace while taking in the views of the beach and resort.

Once our tummies were filled, we headed to Building 2 where our girls busied themselves with the different activities that the Kodomo Club could offer.

The Club has whole-day programs for kids on Fridays and Saturdays, but Caila and Sophie were content in just exploring through free play.

Aside from the wide beach, the resort has 5 pools (3 for adults and 2 for kids that are both temperature-controlled) for guests to enjoy.

That day, we were too lazy to walk all the way to the kids pools, and our girls didn’t like the sticky feeling of swimming in the beach, so we let them have fun splashing around in the bathtub.

By the time we had all taken a shower, we were hungry again. So we walked back to Breeze for lunch where I ordered a club sandwich while Hubby had the buffet.

Caila and Sophie enjoyed their lunch from the kids buffet which included a wide assortment of chocolates and candies, shakes, popcorn, and even cotton candy!

There were also reading books, activity boards, and a television screen set-up for the young guests’ entertainment.

Included in the brunch package that Hubby had was a 15 minute massage at the resort’s Spa Zen, and he was all too eager to have the tension and aches from his back removed...or at least, reduced.

That night, we opted to order from room service instead of walking all the way back to the main building. We were still pretty full from our meal earlier, so we just had pizza and carbonara, and a slice of cheesecake for dessert.

After dinner, we walked around outside to enjoy the cool breeze and quiet surroundings. Caila was in the mood to have her picture taken so I took advantage and clicked away until we were all tired and decided to call it a night.
